Oh dear, two nights in a row! This time we focus on the background with reference photos to guide the direction of the sketch. Still working in grayscale.

In an attempt to improve my portfolio, we embark on a journey to paint a narrative portrait of two cuties. This is the first part where we lay out some sketchy lines and values. It looks like a train wreck now, but hopefully it’ll all pay off in the end.
