This series of eight video clips is from an episode of “Comic Book Greats” which must have been a video series back in the early 90′s. Stan Lee interviews Jim Lee who at the time drew the highest selling issue in comic book history, X-Men #1 which sold 8.2 million copies in 1992. Two comic book legends together just hanging out and talking comics. It doesn’t get much better than this!
If you’re anxious to see Jim draw something, skip over to Part 3. Jim goes through his routine starting with warm up sketches, laying out a scene, loose pencils, tight pencils, character design, and more. It’s been years since Jim worked for Marvel, but his methods are still relevant to today’s aspiring comic artists. Enjoy.
