Monday, March 30th, 2009 at 9:00 am by Jamie

A new version of Autodesk’s Sketchbook Pro is coming soon and Autodesk’s Area has an online preview with videos of some of the new features. Built into Sketchbook Pro 2010 is a new symmetrical sketch mode, straight edge and elliptical rulers, custom brush creation, and blur and sharpen functions. As soon as they release a personal learning edition, we’ll have our own video review to see what Sketchbook Pro 2010 can do for monster cuties.

oh that’s pretty neat. I liked SBP when it was still in the hands of Alias. But SBP 2009 never felt to me like a real update, on the mac side it was more like the intel version of the previous iteration. But this one looks like it has a ton of new features. yet it still remains to be a clean and simple sketching app. Totally dig the rulers tool. Can’t wait to see it in action over here!

Yeah man, couldn’t tell the difference between 2008 and 2009. They said on the site it’s supposed to drop sometime early April so I’m hoping to snag a Personal Learning Edition to test drive. Looking forward to the straight edge stuff and brush creation.
