Coloring Lineart – Part 3, Cel Shading

Also known as anime or manga-style shading, cel shading is a lot of fun and quite straight forward once you get the hang of it.

This style of shading is one of the most basic and easiest to learn technique-wise. It can also be one of the most expressive methods to add depth to your illustration.

    i’m really enjoying these tutorials.. even though i’ve been using photoshop for YEARS, i’ve never attempted something as seemingly daunting as this — granted, i was using it mainly for photo stuffs. but i’ve learned so much through these colouring lineart tutorials. thanks so much for posting these, and i’m excited to see what’s coming next!

    (i swear, for as long as i live, i’ll never know ALL of photoshop’s shortcuts. why are there so many. augh.)
